Samsung unveils low-cost 5G phone

Samsung has unveiled a new phone in their affordable and popular A-series. The Galaxy A42 5G model is Samsung’s cheapest 5G smartphone, priced at $455. News (The Verge).

The new phone is $50 less than Samsung’s previous cheapest 5G smartphone, the 51 5G. The new phone uses the Snapdragon 750G chipset, which Qualcomm announced last month.

The phone also has a 6.6-inch LED display with a 20-megapixel selfie camera at the top. On the back there is a 48 megapixel wide angle, 8 megapixel ultravide, 5 megapixel macro and 5 megapixel depth sensor camera.

The phone will be available in 4GB to 8GB RAM versions. Memory can be expanded up to 128 GB via microSD card. There is a 5000 mAh battery and in-screen fingerprint sensor. Available in three different colors.
